About

I’m the pastor here at St Paul’s United Methodist Church. I spend most of my time working out sermons, sharing stories with people, and dreaming of a clean office. I’m half-korean and invariably get mistaken for a teenager at every youth camp/conference/mission trip/bake sale that I’m at. If you can get over that, I’d love to meet you, or at least start a game of wordswithfriends with you. You can leave me an email on my contact page or connect with me on Facebook and Twitter. If you are looking for a speaker for your next retreat or camp, I can help you out there too. Thanks for stopping by! Peace to your soul!†

Bio:
I grew up in Colorado Springs, CO, in the usual way, with a mom, a dad, and an older sister. I was enrolled in Tae Kwon Do before kindergarten, and even though I haven’t broken a board in 15 years, I’d like to think that I could keep my own in a fight against ten men. I felt a call into the ministry as a young teenager,  and I followed that call to Nampa, ID to attend Northwest Nazarene University. There I met my wife, Joanna, who is nicer and funnier than me. Soon after, we moved to Kansas City, MO so that I could continue studying at Nazarene Theological Seminary. There we added two members to our family: our dogs, Zoe and Elliot. We were blessed to receive a call from Boise, Joanna’s home town, to serve as the youth pastor at the First United Methodist Church. In January of 2013, our first daughter, Clementine Marie was born! A beautiful olive skinned blue eyed baby girl! I’m sure there will be pictures of her flashing in the side bar. In the summer of 2013, I received the call to serve as the Pastor of St Paul’s United Methodist Church, in Idaho Falls. In early 2014, I started a Doctor of Ministry program at St. Paul School of Theology in Kansas City, too. In the summer of 2015, we added our baby boy, Lewis Steven Lawrence, into this crazy mix! WE are blessed! Now, I read, speak, blog, and drink coffee. When I’m not doing those things, I’m spending my time drawing, painting, mountain biking, rock climbing, and other things to make you think I’m cool.
